My sister was watching My Super Sweet 16 and this girl got a BMW 3-series from her dad. She said it costed US$49,000. Um, what the hell? That buys us a Toyota Corolla Altis here! That's so freaking screwed up! Why aren't our cars cheaper? If they were I'd be the proud owner of a Jaguar. D:
I was reading through some things by some people who will remain un-named here, for obvious reasons. I don't actually remember what I was reading, because I was so busy trying to decipher their weird sentence structure and bad grammar. I know people who aren't native speakers who have better English than them. >.<> bad. *sighs* Maybe Singlish, as Singaporean as it is, should go after all.
Look what I found!
Hahahaha! Obviously I don't understand it one bit, but it sounds as if the guy's in love with Robin and mourning for him or something. Maybe some lovely person who understands Dutch can translate it for me and prove me wrong? :D
Check out the Dutch pronunciation of Van Persie. Cool, isn't it? I wonder if should start pronouncing it like that too. Haha. People will think that I've gone mad. Haha.
Lyrics:
[[repeat over and over again]]
The parts that are bolded are the parts that you can actually hear in the song.
And just for good measure, here's the Lu Lu Lu Lukas Podolski song!
Lyrics:
2x Goldi Poldi Halleluja,
Goldi Poldi Halleluja,
Goldi Poldi Halleluja,
8x Lu Lu Lu Lukas Podolski
Wichtig ist ganz einfach aufm Platz,
alles andere ist doch Ersatz.
Du bist jung und du bist wild,
manchen Torwart hast du schon gekillt.
Die Fans die singen Lukas we love you,
ja du hast echt den goldnen Schuh,
komm und mach das Ding nun endlich rein,
denn dann singen alle im Verein:
8x Lu Lu Lu Lukas Podolski
2x Goldi Poldi Halleluja,
Goldi Poldi Halleluja,
Goldi Poldi Halleluja,
es gibt einen Fußballgott.
Haha, songs for footballers are amusing. I vaguely remember one about Roque Santa Cruz, but since he's now a Blackburn player, I shan't bother to go find it.
On the topic of Blackburn players, Robbie Savage is unhappy about what Robin said about Blackburn in
his piece in The Sunday Times.
Savage stokes up the row with Arsenal and Van PersieRobbie Savage stoked up the lingering animosity between Blackburn and Arsenal last night when the midfielder accused Arsène Wenger's team in general, and Robin van Persie in particular, of hypocrisy over their criticism of the Rovers tactics. Relations have been sour between the clubs since the 2005 FA Cup semi-final, when Van Persie was on the receiving end of a forearm smash from Andy Todd, and Blackburn's image was dealt a further setback a fortnight ago when Wenger accused Rovers of having "a desire for violence" following the 1-1 draw at Ewood Park. The Dutch striker added to the controversy last week when he claimed that a Blackburn player had deliberately trodden on the neck of Cesc Fábregas and added that the rest of Mark Hughes' side had kicked and complained their way through the game. These allegations attracted a furious retort from Savage. "Wenger is a great manager and Van Persie is a great player but they give as good as they get," he claimed. "Van Persie did a piece in the paper slaughtering us, which is wrong. It's a man's game. It's physical. You're going to get stuck in and make tackles. And they do that, so it's very hypocritical of them."The Rovers midfielder continued: "It gets on our nerves. We saw Van Persie's piece in the paper the other day and we didn't like it. Arsenal give as good as they get. Van Persie's tackle on Ryan [Nelsen] when we played them was the worst in the entire game. But because they're a London club people only want to say nice things about them. And because we're little old Blackburn, people like to have a go at us, which isn't fair."It's 14 games since we lost to Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final last season. Everybody is on a high and it's about time we got the credit we deserve," he added. "Everyone has been talking about the likes of Man City, but no one's been talking about us. But this run proves we're up there with the best of them. People like Arsène Wenger should concentrate on his own team, instead of going on about us all the time."Blackburn maintained their impressive, unbeaten start to the season with 1-0 victory over Manchester City on Sunday although Savage came off in the first half following a challenge from Richard Dunne and feared he might have again broken the leg which he first fractured against Watford in January. "I had an x-ray which came back clear, which is good news," he said. "It is just bad bruising right on the break. Hopefully in a few days it will be fine."Source.I quote Arseblog: "Firstly, let me say how delighted I am that it gets on his nerves because I was afraid he didn’t have the brain power to think about stuff in the first place." Hahaha, RESPECT!
Okay, moving on. Yes, we gave as good as we get. We're not the ones who go out on the pitch thinking, "Hmm... Today I shall try to kick off someone's shin guards! Better still, break his tibula/fibula!" though. We go out wanting to play nice, entertaining, attractive, attacking football, and we certainly don't crowd around the refree at every opportunity we get, challenging his decisions.
You know, maybe, just maybe, that's why the papers don't talk about them very much, because not many people enjoy seeing matches that are foul littered. But anyways, I look forward to a Robin and Savage bitch!fight. It would certainly be very entertaining. :)
And just like always, a random note to end off the post. This time it's a quote from our very own Robin on his son, Shaqueel! "I hold his right leg still and dangle a toy right above his left leg. Then he has to kick against it. He will become a lefty in no time if I keep up with this."
