Arsenal v Twente and Arsenal v Newcastle

4-0, and 3-0!
That makes it 7 goals in 2 games whilst maintaining a clean sheet! Pretty good after the Fulham match. :) This morning Robin scored two and Denilson got his first league goal! :D I haven't watched the matches yet (thank you, exam period), and I so very smartly forgot to record the Newcastle match. But what the hell Robin?!?!?! Arsene says that he's going to go for an x-ray to see if his ankle is broken. I'm going to pray like hell that it isn't, but knowing Robin...

The People report that Arsene is interesting in loaning Metze from Real! My heart says yes, since I love the man and I would love to see him at Arsenal, but my head tells me that he gets injured too much. We don't need a good defender who is going to be Rosicky II, but then it's Metze! D: Great.

Oh yeah! How wonderful is it that Starhub is finally playing the Bundesliga? :D Because of it, I just realised that Kehli is the captain of Borussia Dortmund! And that Dortmund's stadium looks freaking HUGE!

Anyways, the reason I didn't watch the match yesterday was because I was out the whole day and I felt damn guilty about not studying for the exams at all. D: In the morning I had this Expanding Your Horizons talk thing which I am sure that is to convince us to join Seagate if we decide to pursue a career in engineering or something. Then I had Subway for lunch, watched an episode of House, and went for AGI at Dunman. Which was around the Buona Vista/Holland Road area, which brings back terrible memories of being half-awake and trying and failing to use a mircopipette successfully.

My mom said that she wanted to go to Dinner at Suntec after AGI so I brought along a dress and heels to change into. Which, if anyone has half a brain can tell (I obviously didn't), presented a problem in itself BECAUSE EVERYONE ELSE WOULD BE IN THEIR T-SHIRTS AND SLIPPERS OR WHATEVER AFTER AGI. And I just had to decide to wear heels to afdl;jal;fdkja;sldf Why not Chucks or flats, for goodness sake? Heels. Vanity is a bitch, I tell you.

But I braved weird stares and Yuan Yee and Joan trying to not-so-sneakily take pictures of me and rushed out of Dunman after changing to find my papa. Then he said that Suntec was super crowded so we decided to go to Holland Village... which was also super crowded. The story of my life. But my dad had a genius idea left and we went to this place quite close to Holland Village THAT IS THE BEST RESTAURANT I HAVE EVER BEEN TO.

That place is so freaking awesome. The tables were softly lit with candles and there was a fountain and real frogs croaking and it was under the stars and everything. It wasn't too cold or too hot and oh yeah, did I mention?, the food was AMAZING. It literally had us moaning in pleasure (take that whichever way you want to)! Everything was superb -- from the foie gras to the main courses to the deserts. Bernice and I finished the salad, and we both pick out taugay from our food -- what does that tell you?

And I don't even know the name of the place, hahaha. I'm a genius!

Procrastinating against studying is fun

Well, not really, because I always feel damn guilty about wasting time, but doing stuff on the computer (like blogging and watching Matthew M. videos!) is fun.

It figures that one of the hottest guys at the Olympics is gay and taken. Ruth was so disappointed when I told her that. "WHAT?!?! MATTHEW MITCHAM IS GAY?!?!?!?!?! WHY ARE ALL THE GOOD-LOOKING ONES EITHER GAY OR TAKEN?!?!" <--- or something to that effect. Ruth, my sister and I are all of the opinion that just because a guy is gay doesn't mean he's not good-looking. We're just sore that he's not there for the taking.

My sister came up with a stupid theory because she could tell at first glance that Matthew M. (must write Matthew M. or Matt M. because there's Matt L. and Matt B. too and when I come back to read my posts a year later I don't want get confused and be all "WTF WAS I WRITING?!") was gay and I couldn't. And it is that smart people, those people with high IQs and thus who can think with their brains instead of their sexual organs have perspective, and therefore have good gaydars. People who are perverts have terrible gaydars because they don't have perspective, plus they naturally assume that everyone is there for their taking. (Perspective here obviously refers to a person's ability to not visibly drool at the sight of a gorgeous person.)

She obviously thinks she's smart and that I'm a pervert. (sigh) And she backs up her theory with the fact that I recognised Matt M. in some video because I remember his blond head connected to the swimming trunks that had "AUSTRALIA" printed on the back. In my defence, it was his defining trait amongst all the other divers!

And it's not my fault that the Olympics taught me to look at men this way:
(1) Look at his body. (This works especially well if it's an event that involes the wearing of tight-fitting outfits, such as diving or gym. Is it really that big a coincidence that I enjoy watching diving and gym? Probably not.)
(2) Watch the athlete's performance.
(3) If you enjoy both, then look at his face.

So, obviously, this is how I noticed Matthew M.:
(1) "Look, another random diver whose name I cannot register or process! Oh gosh, his six pack is beautiful/divine/a work of art (NOMNOMNOM). Okay I know he's Australian not because the commentator's going on about it but because AUSTRALIA is printed on the back of his swimming trunks."
(2) "WOAH. DUDE. THAT WAS AN AWESOME DIVE."
(3) "Oh my, he's cute. Really really cute".

THE 10M DIVING WILL BE SHOWN TOMORROW ON CHANNEL 1/THE PREVIEW CHANNEL AT 10A.M. FOR ALL OF US TO ENJOY MATTHEW M.'S CUTENESS. WTF STARHUB WHY DID YOU JUST CANCEL IT AND REPLACE IT WITH WOMEN'S SYNCHRONISED 10M DIVING?!?!?!?!?!?!??!! THE PROGRAMME AFTER IT IS WOMENS 3M SYNCHRONISED DIVING! WE DON'T NEED SO MUCH WOMEN'S DIVING, GIVE US SOME MAN MEAT, KTHNX. (I actually have a theory about why it was cancelled. Ask me! It's so fun that I probably shouldn't, and won't, post it on a public webpage.)

(Okay I really must get back to mugging. I'll try to follow this up with a nice picspam & info post if my stupid internet finally allows Photobucket to load.)

Best day in school

I know it's not common to put the words "best" and "school" in the same sentence without a negative, but the 27/8/08 was THE best day of school. Ever. (<-- Not sarcasm) If school were like that everyday then sign me up! I'd probably be the first to arrive in the classroom... or something like that.

You know why school was so enjoyable?

Because we watched A Midsummer Night's Dream for English Lit. The one with Christian Bale in it. Yes, the one where he appears naked near to the end of the moive. (Even though the most of what I remember of the movie is his beautiful face), it actually helped me to separate Demetrius' and Lysander's lines. So this proves that watching interesting (coughs) movies aids in learning!

Just think about it. We could watch Fight Club in English (there would be SO much to talk about, omg), Shakespeare in Love in English Lit, and so on! It would be kinda hard to fit something into Math, but Math (for me) is pretty fun anyways.

HOUSE SEASON 4!

IT'S HERE.

AS;LDFJAS;DFLJASL;DKFJASL;KDJFASL;JFDA;LSKDJF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Along with Prison Break Season 3 but I'm really disappointed that it's only 13 episodes. What the hell I want to see more of Wentworth's beautiful face!)

I was expecting it around mid-September or early October but :D :D :D :D :D I'm so happy! But then I got to study for EOYs and shit and ARGH D: At least the holidays are coming and I can afford to spend more time in a half-awake half-asleep state to watch my DVDs. Quite obviously, I need to get my priorities in order.

Other than PB and House, the past few days have been pretty good as well. On Friday (the last day of the IMCB thing, thank goodness!), I saw this really gorgeous guy at the MRT station, and I was smart enough to follow him into the same carriage! :D I guess there is no need to state that the carriage was nearly fully packed :D He looked like Panayiotis, omg.

And on Saturday, on the way home from doing our Service Learning at Henderson Community Centre, I saw a Lamborghini! That takes my tally up to two Lamborghinis seen in Singapore! :D :D And in front of it was a Jaguar, which is pretty darn awesome. I was making so much fuss over it that I caused this old man to turn around and look at what was going on, hahahahahaha!

I have tons of pictures to post by my mom set some security thing on the computer and I can't access it or hotmail now. Great.

WTF ARSENAL. FULHAM?!?!?!?!?!

Saturday, August 23, 2008

Sasha Artemev looks like Sebastian Kehl (minus the exhibitionist-ness)

This is why I wanted Team Germany to win the Table Tennis finals!

Ahem.

Okay anyways. I have a ton of homework to do and I have to start EOY revision! It is right now 11P.M. and I spent the whole day watching TV and doing CIP. Arsenal plays at 1A.M. and GAH. D: I need my beauty sleep!

It is, really, my fault though.

Thursday, August 21, 2008

Guys who marry a few rungs up the looks ladder are rockstars, or rich, or have, I don't know, beautiful penmanship.

I hate Swatch watches, omg. Mine is so noisy! The ticking is going to drive me crazy, I swear. At least it's decent looking and cheap.

Today I saw this girl on the MRT who had the most gorgeous watch (for females) I have ever seen in my life. It looked vintage, so I was like D: and didn't ask her about it. I'm stupid. Just because something looks like it's vintage doesn't mean it wasn't bought from a shop! Argh D:

I think Breguet watches are super gorgeous. They're the first watchmaker I know who makes decent looking watches for ladies! Franck Muller makes okay watches, but their male collection is much nicer looking. What wouldn't I give to be rich D:

The Olympics have been super fun! :D Let me recount a few of my favourite moments so far.

(1) So me, my grandparents, my aunt and my dad were watching the Men's Team Table Tennis Semis between Germany and Japan. My grandma hates Japan (still bitter about the Japanese Occupation) and was going, "Aiyah just go back to Japan lah, won't win one. Wooden legs how to run?!" It's mean but it's so funny! (Oh, and she thinks Ronaldo is a crybaby with wooden legs, hahahahah. My grandma rocks.)

By that time Germany and Japan were tied 2-2, and Timo Boll was playing the last match with the Japanese guy. They each won one match point in turn, and they were tied 2-2 for the last match point. My grandpa felt that the Japanese guy was crap and kept missing the ball, and went, "I think he should get glasses. His eyes are so small, how can he see properly?" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! Boll won the last match point of the last game, thus winning the semi-final for Germany. The Germans were so happy they started manpiling on Boll, and we were all like, "O.O Gay much?!" And when Suss was looking like he was about to kiss Boll, it suddenly cut to football.

So my grandma says, "Why suddenly got so many people? Weren't there just two people playing before?!"

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA GRANDMA <3

(2) Just the previous Monday, there was the equestrian team jumping final. It's a bit disheartening to see the riders leave their horses to the stablehands with not much more than a few pats, but then I hear this rider say (either Canadian or American, before the jump-off for the gold), "What a horse". AWWWWW. I love it when riders acknowledge how much a part the horse played in their victory. (This is especially apparent in the penthalon, where 3 riders fell within 30 minutes of each other and no one went clear for the duration I was watching).

(3) A.GYM MEN'S INDIVIDUAL APPARATUS HIGH BAR FINAL! Probably my favourite event so far, even if that China gymnast won undersevedly (in my opinion, at least). Jonathan Horton second and Fabian Hambuechen third! So awesome :D Horton is one of my favourite gymnasts, and not just because he has the best surname ever (Horton! Horton the elephant!) and is shorter than me (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A full inch!), but because I admire his determination and attitude. He just went all out for the competition and he did so well on the high bar. It was amazing, and the releases were awesome! <3

Hambuechen is also one of my favourites, because he seems like such a geniunely nice guy. When I first saw him I was like, "Ergh this guy looks damn cocky" (probably because it was when he fell off the high bar and was looking quite upset), but after watching so many events, I think he's probably the nicest gymnast at the Olympics. I always see him shaking hands with the other gymnasts, and once I even saw him shake hands with the woman holding the signboard leading them around the stadium! It's kinda sad that he's been finishing 4th in so many events so when that Italian guy (who did pretty well on the high bar and I was convinced Hambuechen had no hope of a medal) placed 4th, me and my sister screamed for joy! Hahahahaha I swear it's the first time I've screamed at some sporting event that is not football.

And Blanik from Poland winning the Men's Individual Apparatus Pommel Horse event! I noticed his vaulting during qualification and I'm really pleased he won! He's really darn good at it, and his name! So awesome. :D

Silvestre?!?!?!?!? WTF. I was WTF-ing about it in the morning when I read it in the newspaper and poof, when I check the internet a few hours later, he's an Arsenal player. WHUT. Like Arseblog said, you have to like/love every Arsenal player and ergh. *shudders* I'll probably change my mind later but right now I am shuddering. This better not be our one big signing!!!!!!

And talking about signings, our Nasri did really well against West Brom! Got his first goal on his Premiership debut and was generally hardworking and did well (but then again it's West Brom). I'm pretty disappointed that we only scored one goal but a win's a win, AND Man Utd got 1 point only, so overall I'm okay with it.

But Nasri is injured?!?!?! Gah. D: But talking about friendlies, Robin scored a FANTASTIC goal for Holland! Please replicate that for us ASAP, kthnx. His son looks so much like him it's scary!

Real life stuff:
- The IMCB Bio workshop thing is really boring. Coupled with no one to talk to, it makes me really fucking excited to get back to school.
- People who take me for granted are fucking annoying. I have no fucking obligation to do anything for you, okay? Fuck you.
- I need to start EOY revision. Fuck this shit.
- I don't feel like I have any real friends in school anymore. I don't get told anything until every-fucking-one knows about it already, and everyone seems to have other people they'd rather hang out with.
- Being called annoying is not something I appreciate.

I realised I used the word fuck nearly every sentence of the real life stuff. Guess my real life isn't as rosy as I want it to be.

And just for you, my dearest Debbie, the next post will contain lots of shirtless guys. ;)

2008 Amsterdam Tournament!

Photobucket

1-1 against Sevilla with a team with an average age of too young and 3-2 over Ajax with a more experienced team gets us this trophy. I haven't watched the Sevilla game yet (conked out before I remembered to set the recorder plus my parents dragged me out for breakfast right after I woke up), but apparently we were playing defence a lot? :/ Ah well. At least it's good experience for our baby!gunners.

I watched the Women's sabre fencing finals yesterday. And I didn't understand a thing. Hahahaha.

Happy post!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SINGAPORE! WE TURN A VERY YOUTHFUL 43 YEARS OLD!
My mom turns the same age this year and Wen Yi's birthday is today! So it's happy all around. :D The parade was pretty cool too, and all the singers were really damn good!

YAY FOR ARSENAL BEATING AJAX 3-2 AND ME BEING ABLE TO WATCH THE MATCH!
I am still not happy with Adebayor though, depsite his brace. He'll redeem himself if he knocks in a goal a game. And what was with Robin and Theo arguing?! I am also amazed that our new boy, Aaron Ramsey, is only 2 years older than me, plus I am only a year younger than Wilshere. It's kind of making me reevaluate what I am doing and achieveing.

THE BEIJING OLYMPICS OPENING CEREMONY WAS AMAZING.
And men's gymnastics is very um... interesting (coughs) to watch. ;) I'm looking forward to the equestrian events and fencing!

Oh, and I also got some pretty cool looking Timberland shoes (I'm not sure what they are called. Moccasins? Boat shoes? IDK they all look the same to me D: Shit I sound like a man who doesn't give a shit about shoes now hahahahahah) that are yellow. :D I don't think I buy normal coloured shoes, hahahaha.

I wonder if she's as deaf as she is short.

I have some genius theories about Breaking Dawn! (Obviously you should stop reading and jump ahead to the Christian Bale pictures if you have not read the book and don't want to be spoilt!)

(1) Jacob loves Edward.

Jacob loved Bella. Then Bella got preggers with Renesmee. After that he imprinted on Renesmee. Since Bella stopped being in love with Jacob after she became a vampire, my theory is that some part of her did belong to Jacob, but it was passed down to Nessie. Also, seeing that Jacob didn't imprint on Bella, I can infer that Edward had some part to play in the imprinting thing.

Therefore, in conclusion, Jacob loves Edward. In some weird way.

(2) Jacob loves Quil.

"I thought you were going to make out with him."

Case closed. To be fair, it isn't even really a theory. It's a fact, not a formula!

PICTURES FOR THE PEOPLE WHO DON'T READ/ARE NOT INTERESTED IN TWILIGHT AND LIKE HOT MAN MEAT. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Get well soon Morgan!

My genius sister went, "OMG THE DARK KNIGHT IS CURSED!" (an obvious sign that she has once again, been watching that craptacular E! entertainment, because I don't think she knows the word cursed) while me and Bernice were looking at SLKs (which, by the way, are incredibly beautiful). I already knew that Morgan Freeman had been in an accident so I was like, "Whatever, bugger off". She, being Beatrice, persisted and went, "First Heath Ledger died, then Christian Bale..." Which made me go, "WHAT?!?!?!?!?!" because I though he had been injured. Then I realised that she was talking abou the whole dramamama thing about the assult incident. Cheh.

And I want it bad enough that I shall swallow my pride and give them whatever they want from me. The scary part is that I don't feel so bad about it after all. I did wrestle with it at first, yes, but I would have done it anyways, nevertheless.

Don't people lie, cheat and steal to get what they need? Plus, I'm not the one who asked for it. It would be foolish to pass it up.

"LOL, oh such wonderful quotes, from such a prolific piece of literature."
"A literary quote must be quoted from literature, not campy trash."

from http://community.livejournal.com/literaryquotes/6076699.html, about Breaking Dawn. Over a hundred comments about how Breaking Dawn suxOrz. And I even laughed along with some of them. D: But then I saw an icon of Christian with the words, "I assult women".

ASDL;FKJAS;FDLKAJL;FDKAJS;DLFKJA;LFDKJA;FDLKJA;FDLJA;LFDKJA;DLFJA;FDL
QWEROPUIQEWROUKMZXNADLFK;JADFIOQEWRLKAJL;FDKASDFNZXVC,.MNAL;FDK
AL;FJA;SLFDKJQWEURQWURAVNSCN

Asshole who thinks that she's better than everybody else just because she reads ~cool and deep bookz THAT SRSLY PWN YOUR FUCKEN LIFE~!!!!!!!! ERGH! I even looked up her profile and 6 out of 7 her icons are dedicated to insulting Christian. The best one says, "Christian Bale is fucking ugly".

UM.

WHUT.

WHUT.

WHUT.

WHUT??????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If there is anything that my third (!!) viewing of The Dark Knight made me realise, it is that Christian is more than incredibly gorgeous. (And that performance was actually really really really really really good. It was actually pretty darn close to the amazingness of Heath's performance. But anyways.) I don't understand how it's possible for him to get more good looking as he ages. Isn't it supposed to be the other way around?

But back to the haters. I don't understand their motivation. I think lots of actors are ugly/not attractive, and most of them do asshole-ly stuff, but I don't go around bashing them all the time. Even if you disliked a "celebrity", do you really have to go to such means to bash them? 6/7 icons devoted to calling Christian names. What do you use then, when you don't want to be an asshole with the same old display picture?

And I didn't actually think Breaking Dawn was that bad. Some parts were kind of WTF-worthy, but I thought it was an okay story, all in all. Maybe I'm just a sucker for happy endings.
