Why do medical dramas like to make doctors have affairs with dying patients?

In both the only medical dramas that I've ever watched in my life, there have been doctor/dying!patient relationships. Case in point:
(i) Wilson and shrinking-tumor-woman (the storyline played out over one episode though, which was sad)
(ii) Kyle and Eric in GH: Night Shift

To be fair though, I only watched GH: Night Shift because of Kyle/Eric. Which turned out to be very boring actually. :/ (Night Shift: Claire and Kyle (the spin-off of the spin-off; nice) is much funnier than Night Shift. It also helps that each episode is only about 3 minutes long.) I fastforwarded through everything but the Kyle/Eric moments. Eric seems to only have poor pick up lines and he makes mostly corny comments. At least Kyle produces some lulz, even if they are unintentional. See: "I sleep with men. And one day I hope to marry one, if I'm not too emotionally messed up to do so." (This in itself isn't funny, but the context and how he said it was priceless!)

Which got me thinking about Prop 8. That, Perez Hilton and everyone who is posting pictures of the various protests. I'm sad that it passed, but it's not really surprising. Gay people make up what, less than 10% of the population? Anything that is a minority can be also considered an oddity and is therefore viewed by some (in this case the majority of the American public) as unacceptable. But that doesn't make it any less terrible.

Because I try to create links between everything and Arsenal (which can sometimes be quite disturbing, such as seeing female Cesc lookalikes with large breasts, or male Cesc lookalikes who happen to be trapeze artists in tights), I came to realise that Robin and Cesc are free to marry both men and women, if they are that way inclined. Which is pretty cool. I'd want that for Beatrice and her little Tyra Banks loving heart.

Sometimes I wish that my happiness doesn't depend so much on Arsenal winning. My little Arsenal loving heart would have been so devastated if we had lost to Man Utd (no kidding, Bernice and I ran down 5 flights of stairs, with me tripping and cutting my butt on some stone steps to joyously celebrate our victory in front of a Man Utd fan) and it would have ruined my entire holiday.

Right now it seems as though we only just postponed our problems for a little while. Kind of like the LSD trip you go on to release some stress. And I can't just choose to turn off my love for Arsenal for a little while, until someone bitchsmacks this team into actually giving a fuck and playing some real football.

At least my whole life isn't just about football though. Just to take stock, here are some of the nice things that have made me happy recently.

Today we let her play in my sister's room and she decided that she wanted to go on to the bed to sleep, so she jumped onto the bed and settled herself happily in between my sleeping sister's legs. After my sister woke up to use the laptop, she decided that she wanted in on some laptop loving and sat on the keyboard. She got tired soon after and used my bolster (the one that I used when I was just a baby) as a pillow.

She also knows how to use the bathroom as a toilet, even in unfamiliar places.

The fact that she's even alive is amazing. I just realised that her hind paws were burnt while the workers were cutting the pole to rescue her. Now, barely 2 weeks after that, she's running around and jumping onto beds and being the most amazing little thing ever. I love her.

I love love love love love love love YSL. Did I mention that I love YSL? It cannot be said enough. I love YSL. I love the yellow Tributes. So gorgeous. They're the only colour that I've seen the Tribute in that makes me want to own a pair myself. And the way she pairs it with that nailpolish and those trousers is so amazing. The sequined tights with the 5-inch boots are so fucking cool as well. I love YSL.

I was expecting it around mid-September or early October but :D :D :D :D :D I'm so happy! But then I got to study for EOYs and shit and ARGH D: At least the holidays are coming and I can afford to spend more time in a half-awake half-asleep state to watch my DVDs. Quite obviously, I need to get my priorities in order.

Other than PB and House, the past few days have been pretty good as well. On Friday (the last day of the IMCB thing, thank goodness!), I saw this really gorgeous guy at the MRT station, and I was smart enough to follow him into the same carriage! :D I guess there is no need to state that the carriage was nearly fully packed :D He looked like Panayiotis, omg.

And on Saturday, on the way home from doing our Service Learning at Henderson Community Centre, I saw a Lamborghini! That takes my tally up to two Lamborghinis seen in Singapore! :D :D And in front of it was a Jaguar, which is pretty darn awesome. I was making so much fuss over it that I caused this old man to turn around and look at what was going on, hahahahahaha!

I have tons of pictures to post by my mom set some security thing on the computer and I can't access it or hotmail now. Great.


WTF ARSENAL. FULHAM?!?!?!?!?!

School's started. I'm still not sure how I feel about it. I like being around my friends in school, and I like all the drama that doesn't revolve around me, but I hate the tests. ): It's been too long since I've taken one, 'cos I'm worried about the Biology one next week. It's just a small test! It's not even a review one, just a simple one. What's wrong with me? D: And by posting this I'm procrastinating against going to study for it. I'm such a genius, I know.

I think watching House right after watching Dead Poets Society is amazingly hilarious. Robert Sean Leonard grew so much fatter, it's astounding. He was so lean/v. slightly muscled in DPS and in House he has more stomach fats than Bernice. I feel bad for this, but.. hahahahahaha!

It's also amazing that Edward Norton is the same age as Robert Sean Leonard. I thought Edward Norton was 30 or something. D: And his body in The Incredible Hulk... X.X I think it's even better than Lars' in Acqua di Gio. Someone please take screencaps quick so I can post them here and we can all perv over them!

What have you done today to make you feel proud?

Well, today marks the halfway mark of the school holidays. ): It doesn't even feel like two weeks, I thought it was the end of the first week yesterday! Stupid extra lessons adflal;jfasfd. >:( And the best part is that I have camp from the 12th to the 14th, then job attachment from the 16th to the 20th.

At least I went to Debbie's house for a sleepover with the Purplehooders Thursday and yesterday! :) I went to Debbie's house to find the both of them trying to sing Jason Mraz's I'm Yours -- which is, actually, a very pretty song. After a few feeble attemps of doing homework, we started watching House until like 3A.M.. House marathons FTW~

As usual, Debbie woke up the latest. We had breakfast then we left for Marina Square to watch Prince Caspian which was a lot better than I expected, and not just because I think William Moseley is cute. After that Debbie had to go taekwando so Jing and I went to AMK Hub to eat Fish&Co. but there was this HUGE queue so we went to the Food Court instead.

Then I went home! Funfunfun. :)


I think I need to stop watching QAF and House simultaneously. Because the more I do, the more I think that House and Wilson's relationship is like Brian's and Michael's. Which is dangerous because... well anyone who's watched QAF before will understand why the parallels are dangerous. But let me tell you why I think so anyways.

They're willing to put with anything from each other. Wilson ratted House out to Tritter about House's Vicodin addiction [[which I don't actually think is an addiction -- if I were in that much pain I'd be downing Vicodin like candy too]] and then retracted that because Wilson realised it wasn't a problem. And when Tritter pointed out that he would be put in jail for that, he said he would rather go to jail instead of ratting House out to the court. And Michael puts up with Brian time and time again -- drugs, promiscuity, peeing on his stuff... And the you're pathetic thing! House says that to Wilson in 3.22 and it's an ongoing thing with Michael and Brian.

Most of off, they love each other. It's repeated only like a billion time in QAF [[Brian: You look fantastic... you are fantastic.]], and although House only verbalises it once [[and Wilson, being a manly hetero man who cooks dinner and blow-dries his hair doesn't say anything in return]], it's quite obvious that they love each other. Like the jail thing, then the Wilson lost his job to save House's job incident, and tons of other stuff.

And there are distinct simliarities between the characters. Brian's a casual drug user, and House is addicted to Vicodin. Brian tried to off himself in 1.22, and House doesn't particularly care if he lives or dies sometimes [[like ODing on Oxycodone]]. Brian pretends like he doesn't love people, and House, and I quote House himself, "I've been alienating people since I was three". But they do actually care for a few people. Also, they're both sarcastic, funny assholes.

I guess the only difference is that Wilson is not in love with House like Michael is with Brian. But he might as well be, since his two billion relationships with women haven't worked out so well [[House: All you had to do was say "I do". God knows it's a phrase you've used often enough in your life.]]. Kinda like some Greek god who went after this -- and this is from the placard thingie at the Greek art exhibition I went to some time ago -- "beautiful boy" after his wife died or something.

But what do I know, right? I'm not a script writer.

Every time you push a button, a random person in the world dies and you get $1000. Would you push it? How many times? And what would you buy with the money? (If you wouldn't, would you do it for $10,000? $100,000? How much would it take?) If you're not down for killing, what would you do for what price? Pose naked for a magazine, eat a roach, drink urine, have sex with a stranger, contract a disease you can never get rid of, never use a computer again, live without a cell phone forever, promise to never see your family again?

Interesting, isn't it? My response would be no to pushing the button. But only because I don't like the thought of blood being on my hands. The comments to that post had someone saying that her boyfriend said he would never take his finger off the button. :/

It depends on the photographer for the posing for naked for a magazine thing. If it's like some sleazy photographer for Maxim or Playboy, no way, but if it's tasteful and I got a lot of money from it [[say... $10,000]], why not? I'd only eat a cockroach if I could cook it first for $1000, $10,000 for drinking my own urine, and the sex with a stranger... probably not, but if so, it depends on whether the person was clean or not, and if not, what kind of STD he has. Chlamydia, sure, HIV, bye bye. Obviously the price we're talking about here is like $50,000 increasing with the severity of the STD.

It really depends on what disease we're talking about if I were to contract one I could never get rid of. Asthma or the common cold for $20,000? Bring it on baby! Diabetes I'd take too, but for $50,000 -- because of the increased medical expenses. If you're talking ALS, Creutzfeldt-Jakob or Huntington's, then no, not for any price.

Never use a computer again... $500,000. But only because I can use my phone to surf the web. Hah. Live without a cell phone forever? $50,000. I can always use a land line. Promise to never see my family again? Um. Three million dollars. Probably more.
