One and a half hours to the Arsenal v Sunderland match. Funnily enough I don't seem to be having pre-match jitters yet. I even feel like watching Disney Channel. Weird, isn't it?
Arsenal fan groups unite against prospective takeover
I think it's quite obvious that Usmanov will not be good for the club, but I don't think fan groups are gong to stop him from taking over the club. A guy who has threatened websites with legal action isn't going to care about the fans. [[Although, it seems as if his PR people are telling him to be nicer to the reporters. Hmm.]] I think the smartest thing to do would be to pick the lesser of the two evils and get Kroenke into the lockdown. But to get him onto the board though....?
Van Persie praise for Wenger
"Football is about enjoyment. For some teams it is purely work but, for us, it’s sprinkled with love." -- Robin
*sniffs* I feel like an old grandma watching a soppy soap on TV.
"I’ve set high standards for myself. Recently I missed a penalty and one could say that even the really great players have missed them. But I cannot accept that excuse. With my technique, it should definitely always be a goal." -- Robin
Hmm, one article in the Arsenal magazine also said that Robin was 'distraught' after missing that penalty against Man City. Let's all hope that it's his first and last one.
'Meanwhile, Van Persie, 24, has become a senior citizen in the Emirates revolution and dismisses the notion that kids cannot win anything.'
Haha you know something's weird when you're a 'senior citizen' at 24. I seem to remember a commentator saying something about Cesc being an old man at 20. Heh.
"The manager told us at the break just to keep passing because our chance would come eventually as long as we did not change our approach. There is no need to worry when you have such a talented team and players like Cesc Fabregas, Robin van Persie, Eduardo and myself, who can score at any time... But we need to keep focused on what we are doing and then we will see if we can make history." -- Ade
The "no need to worry" part bothers me. There is a need to worry. If we don't worry there will not be a sense of urgency, and on an off day, that elusive goal might not come. It is also not very good for our hearts if the boys leave it to the last 15 minutes to score. And oh god, "make history"? I agree with Arsene, we need a whole crap load of consistency if we want to do anything like The Invincibles, and besides, we're like what, 12 games unbeaten so far? Yeah, way too early to draw comparisons.
Future is now
Haha this guy has the best comparisons.
'This was supposed to be a rebuilding year for the youthful Gunners after manager Arsene Wenger jettisoned nearly every player on his roster that had the audacity to turn 30. This isn't a surprise; Wenger has always been a bit like Hugh Hefner when it comes to his players -- the younger, the better.'
Ahahahahahahahaha Hugh Hefner. You know when I hear Hugh Hefner I think Eminem? >.< Great now everyone knows how screwed up I am.
You're Gunner believe us now
"The boss was shocked when I told him it was my first header. As a striker I must start scoring more like that. But things are going very well and I don’t see why we can’t win a trophy this season." -- Robin
Robin's first header. 0.0 And yes, I don't see why we can't win a trophy this season either. :)
A quote from my sister: "You mean I very stupid la? When Da Jie score well we go to Shangri-la, when I score well we go to Club Med?" Ahahahahaha, my family is so lovingly cynical. :)
Isn't this the hottest mugshot photo thing you've ever seen? :D
And just because I know Christal loves the gold monogram pants, here's the others in the set, just for youuuu! :)
This is so gang-y, and obviously Jeremy is the leader, while that short guy on the left is like the Pettigrew of the group.
LOVE THIS!!! It's so old grandpa-ish, whooo.
I hate it when the models wear their shoes without socks. *shudders*
You know these could very well be a double post but I don't feel like checking, and besides, you can't get enough of Jeremy anyways. :)
And just because Christal makes it sound like all I ever post about are pictures of guys, which is sadly, true, so here are some pictures from Valentino's last RTW collection.
You know I can't decide whether this is hideous or not. The model carries it off well, but I think if I were to see this on some random girl who's following the whole trend shit, I'd probably think it's hideous. >.<
This is Vivienne Westwood. Isn't it adorable? :D
Louboutin for Rodarte.
These shoes are ridiculously ridiculous, but all the same, wouldn't it be hilarious to stick you foot out when people go, "Uh, interesting shoes"? :)
I covet these.
This is Dior. Isn't the heel fascinating?
Dries van Noten.
Lanvin. My sister loves these. I think that there's no freaking way that you can walk in these.
Requiem.
Philip Lim
Alexander Mcqueen
15 minutes to the game. Gah.
